Education and training
Cultural education and training of the walker and the pilgrim.
The association was born from the meeting, on the pilgrimage ways towards Santiago de Compostela and towards Rome, of seven pilgrims who chose to make their own experience of the way available to others, in order to safeguard and promote the Via di Giovanni Battista and the values of pilgrimage; and Quelli della Via is the most ancient name for those who choose the way as a form of seeking, of living, of encounter.
The statute identifies the safeguarding of The Way of John the Baptist as the association's principal activity, and sets out its purposes pursuant to art. 5 of the Third Sector Code.
Cultural education and training of the walker and the pilgrim.
Environmental protection and promotion of sustainable mobility.
Enhancement of cultural and landscape heritage: the tradition of European pilgrimage, historical and religious sites, confraternities, historic routes.
Organisation and management of cultural, publishing and outreach activities.
Organisation of ways, secular and spiritual pilgrimages, experiences of hospitality and welcome.
Elected for a three-year term, it is made up of seven members. The Members' Assembly is the sovereign body of the association. The association is open to people of every culture, spiritual tradition and orientation, united by the living experience of pilgrimage.
The statute expressly provides for participation, as lead partner or partner, in regional, national and European funding calls — with particular reference to the Interreg programmes for territorial cooperation and to the Council of Europe programmes for Cultural Routes.
A voice that calls in the silence:
prepare for the way.
It is not the destination that matters. It is the direction you heed.
